Our History

2001

The Belgian Airline “Thomas Cook Airlines” was founded in 2001 by the British-German travel company Thomas Cook in order to further expand its business across Europe.

Its main focus was to carry the guests of the Tour Operator Neckermann, Thomas Cook and Pegase to the holiday resorts around the Mediterranean Sea.

 

2002

The first flight of Thomas Cook Airlines started and soon the young airline was a preferred choice for holidaymakers in Belgium.

 

2004

In order to grow its business and to attract also individual travelers Thomas Cook Airlines introduces a ticket only sales and starts to sell tickets also to the end customer.

 

2013

Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium becomes part the Thomas Cook Group Airlines. This is forming a one airline segment within Europe’s second largest travel company Thomas Cook. Since then,  the Belgium Airline works closely together with the British and Scandinavian Thomas Cook Airline and the German Airline Condor. To demonstrate the philosophy of keeping our passengers at the heart of our business, all aircrafts at Thomas Cook Airlines carry the “Sunny Heart”.

 

2014

Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium introduced a Premium Service for all HQ flights. This service offers passengers an important number of advantages, both before and during the flight. Guests who take this option enjoy free seat reservation, fast-lane, superior meal and alcoholic drinks included.

 

2015

In Belgium, by the start of the summer season, at the beginning of April, almost the entire fleet will be completely refurbished with the new Thomas Cook Airlines colors and the ‘Sunny Heart’.  Also the inside of the cabin is brand new: new ergonomic seats on the A320 fleet will offer passengers extra leg room, new carpeting, adapted hand luggage space and lighting. All passengers will also be able to enjoy movies and music thanks to an inflight entertainment system with a varied choice for young and old.

 

2016

The year started well at Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium as the company received the “Brussels Airport Safety Award 2015” in March 2016. This award goes to the company making a particularly active contribution to continued improvements in safety standards and awareness. In order to reply to the customers desire for new beach destinations Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium successfully launched Ohrid in Macedonia as a new destination. During the summer months, Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium showed its flexibility and also operated out of Amsterdam for the tour operator organization from Thomas Cook in the Netherlands.
